Smooth, dense, transparent or translucent paper manufactured primarily form chemical wood pulps, which have been beaten to secure a high degree of hydration of the stock. Sometimes used as a backing paper.
GLUE ASSIST KNIVES
The steel rule cutting blades used to make glue lines. Same as glue flap rule.
GLUE FLAP RULE
A special steel rule that cuts a design into the flap of a folding carton which allows improved adhesion of the flaps to improve the ruggedness of the construction of the box.
GNOMON
An object representing direction and dimension that facilitates interpretation of a two-dimensional image of a three-dimensional solid.
GRIPPER BARS
A gripper bar holds down the material or keeps the material in place during the diecutting.
GROUND EDGE
Steel Rule with bevels established by grinding as opposed to shaving with a cutting tool.
GUM RUBBER
A type of rubber that is used as an ejection material in some cutting dies. Narrow slots of rubber that are placed into narrow slots in folding carton or corrugated box die designs to improve the stripping of the diecut slot from the die.
